Beginning the ISM Experience
As we conclude our first learning week of ISM, there’s a lot I have found out about my topic of Quantitative analysis of financial markets. This week we worked on interview questions for upcoming interviews along with our first research assessment: where I found out knowledgeable insights about jobs that coincide or perform similar tasks to those I wish to study through ISM this year. The profession I specifically looked into was ‘Securities and Commodities Trader’. By digging deeper into the workings and requirements of this profession, I was able to obtain a brief outline of the educational pathway I could pursue, as well as the skills I should refine. Although this profession quite closely aligns with my field of interest, I wish to pursue this field as more of a capital growth initiative rather than a singular stream of income.
As we started quite simply I have not yet faced any challenges other than trying to narrow down into a single field to study within the vast world of quantitative analysis. I'd like to look into different segments of the markets during the next weeks to gain a strong base knowledge of the most widely used tradable securities. I look forward to the journey ahead as dive deeper than ever into a subject that fascinates me.
